If you've ever wondered how a lightsaber works (by sending an arc wave through cycling field energizers apparently), or whether teleportation will be possible (probably, but your original body may have to be destroyed in the process!), then this site provides all the answers. As well as light hearted articles, it manages to explain how a huge number of inventions and machines work in an informative way, without ever getting bogged down in overly difficult or complex science.

As such, it's an invaluable source of information for the layman wanting a clear simple explanation of how just about anything works. Recently it's also started adding articles on subjects like the citizenship of a child born on an aeroplane mid-flight or what the worlds fastest super-computer is used for. One minor criticism could be made of the sites overly cluttered layout and prevalence of adverts, but in general these are of minor concern.
